Working with Grid Layouts

In the Windows application, most grids can be personalized in the following way:

A user can modify the grid and then save the layout as "My Layout" so the application will remember this layout the next time the user opens the same grid.

An administrator also has the ability to save and modify the layout as "System Layout" which will be the default for any user that opens the grid and does not have their own personal layout.

 

Defining your personal grid layout

  1. Right Click on Column Headings of List

  2. Choose Show/Hide Columns to display the Field Chooser

  3. Select the Columns that are desired

  4. Change the order of Columns to desired order by dragging and dropping column headings

  5. Change the size of Columns to desired width

  6. Right Click Column Headings and Click "Save My Layout"

 

Removing your personal grid layout

  1. Right Click on the Column Headings

  2. Choose the option "Delete My Layout"

  3. Refresh the screen

 

Note: Use shift to sort by multi-columns The Field Chooser window can also be opened by clicking The Field Chooser Button on the Header Row.

 

Other Right Click Options

Enable Group By - Allows users to group the result list by one or more of the column headings.

Enable Filter Option - Allows users to filter the result list by any of the visible columns

Set as System Layout - Sets the current layout as the System Layout - used for all users without a user layout.

Delete System Layout- Sets the System Layout back to the standard layout.

Print Preview - Opens Print Preview Window which also allows printing of the results

Export to Excel - Exports the results list to excel.

Customize Totals - Enables the options to add SUM, COUNT, AVG, MAX, and MIN to the bottom of most columns in all grids 28417
